The historic centre of Sant’Ambrogio in Turin is once again filled with the scent of butter and tradition thanks to Meliga Day 2026!

A whole weekend to celebrate the historic, fragrant cornflour pastries, with craft markets, local specialities from the Susa Valley, music and entertainment for the whole family.

The main activities planned include:

• tastings and promotion of Paste di Meliga

• sessions focusing on and promoting the De.C.O.

• involvement of local manufacturing and commercial enterprises

• markets and areas dedicated to local specialities

• cultural and educational initiatives

• activities and workshops for children and families

• shows and musical entertainment

• tours exploring the local area and its traditions

Elisabetta Giriodi, guida escursionistica ambientale, accompagnerà i partecipanti in un suggestivo itinerario ad anello tra i vigneti e le borgate di Pomaretto.

Camminando tra i tipici terrazzamenti, testimonianza storica dell’insediamento umano, si raggiungeranno punti panoramici ideali per l’osservazione del cielo al tramonto.

La passeggiata si svilupperà lungo i sentieri del Ramìe e si intreccerà con racconti di leggende locali, cenni di astronomia e tematiche ambientali. Il rientro in notturna prevede una tappa al Ciabot&Ramìe Glamping, dove la serata si concluderà con un’apericena a base di prodotti del territorio, un calice di vino locale e caffè.

10.00 am: Traditional blessing of the Vespas at the Church of Sant’Ippolito.
10.30 am: Second sightseeing tour to admire the beauty of our country
1.00 pm: The most eagerly awaited moment: the legendary Stella Alpina Lunch!
3.00 pm: Refreshments and final prize-giving ceremony in the picturesque setting of the Fort of Exilles.

Miradolo Castle is hosting a day of events for all ages, offering the chance to enjoy the outdoor spaces amidst nature, local flavours and a summery atmosphere.

The day begins at 10.30 am with ‘My Corner of the Castle’, a workshop from the ‘Children’s Sunday’ series aimed at children aged 6 to 10. This activity invites participants to become young architects, designers and artists, imagining new ways of living and reinventing the castle’s spaces: by creating pop-up rooms, the children will be encouraged to reflect on the value of restoration and creativity, drawing inspiration from the history of Miradolo Castle and the regeneration project undertaken by the Cosso Foundation.

At 4.30 pm, a guided tour of the castle and the historic park is scheduled, led by educator and museum guide Elena Tortia: a tour that takes visitors on a journey of discovery through the history of the monumental complex, the restoration work carried out over the last eighteen years that has restored its historical and architectural value, and the historic English-style landscape park, the design of which has recently been attributed to the renowned landscape architect Xavier Kurten.

The event concludes at 8.30 pm with the ‘Picnic of Wishes’, a summer evening to be enjoyed in the historic park amongst monumental trees and a starry sky: the picnic basket offers a selection of local produce to be savoured in the open air, whilst those who prefer may choose the Merenda Sinoira at the Bistrot del Castello.
