A special evening of singing on the summit of Monte Cuneo, between sunset and the rise of the full moon, with the Sfumature di rosa choir conducted by Donatella Fazio.

From 6.00 pm, a bar service will be available serving hot and cold drinks and, for those who wish, a hearty ‘merenda sinoira’ (€8.00; booking essential at the Avigliana Tourist Office).

To reach Moncuni, you walk up an easy route along a footpath or dirt track, but suitable footwear, weather-appropriate clothing and a torch for the return journey are strongly recommended.

For those who do not wish to walk up alone or are unfamiliar with the route, there will be two group departures: one from Avigliana (4.30 pm from the car park on Via Oronte; booking recommended) and one from Reano (5.15 pm from Piazzale Donatori di sangue; no booking required).

We look forward to seeing you at Moncuni – or rather, Moon-cuni – to celebrate the full moon of the autumnal equinox, the harvest moon in farming tradition. In the event of bad weather, the evening will be cancelled.

An initiative for the future of young people and the mountains

A day dedicated to nature, community and the future of the Upper Susa Valley. On Saturday 12 September, at Capanna Mautino in Cesana Torinese, the new ‘Traces of Nature’ Interactive Trail, created by Chaberton Outdoor Activities, will be officially opened, alongside activities from the Smart Village – New Generations for the Upper Susa Valley programme.

10.30 – 11.00 | Ribbon-cutting ceremony and speeches by officials
11.00 – 13.00 | Departure of guided walks in groups along the Interactive Trail

15:00 – 16:30 | Smart Village Interactive Workshop
A workshop designed specifically for young people aged between 18 and 40 to gather ideas, needs and opportunities regarding living, working and building a future in the mountains. The event will be attended by the managers of Capanna Mautino and the Chaberton Outdoor Activities association. With a special appearance by Giulia Tonelli, a graphic facilitator, who will oversee the visual mapping of the area.

Participation in the event is free of charge.
The Smart Village workshop is aimed specifically at young people aged between 18 and 40. To take part, please register by 10 September by emailing mistral@fondazionetime2.it.

We recommend comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for walking. The trek takes approximately 1 hour.

Festa dello Sport 2026 - Rivoli

The Sports Festival returns to Rivoli: two days to get to know the city’s many sports organisations, try out different disciplines and discover opportunities for socialising and getting involved, aimed at children, teenagers and adults.

Saturday will be Open Day: the clubs will open the doors to their training facilities, offering the chance to find out more about their activities and, in many cases, to try them out first-hand in the venues where they take place throughout the year.

On Sunday, the heart of the festival will be Piazza Aldo Moro, where sport will move out of the facilities to meet the city: the clubs’ stands, activities open to the public, and demonstrations and performances on stage will allow visitors to try out numerous sports for free, under the guidance of coaches and instructors.

Notte Alpina. Ecosistemi, percezione e orientamento nel buio

L’attività, condotta dalla guida ambientale escursionistica Marion Vaglio Tessitore, propone di vivere la notte non soltanto come momento di osservazione del cielo ma come ambiente da attraversare e percepire attraverso l’ascolto, l’orientamento e la progressiva riduzione della luce artificiale.

Durante il cammino i partecipanti verranno accompagnati in attività di adattamento alla visione notturna, sperimentando il cambiamento della percezione visiva e spaziale nel passaggio dalla luce al buio. Particolare attenzione verrà dedicata all’ascolto attivo del paesaggio e alla costruzione di una semplice “mappa sonora” dell’ambiente notturno, identificando suoni, distanze e direzioni percepite nel buio.

Nel corso delle soste verranno affrontati temi legati all’inquinamento luminoso, alla fragilità degli ecosistemi alpini e notturni e alle modalità di orientamento della fauna. La sosta principale sarà dedicata all’osservazione del cielo e al riconoscimento delle principali costellazioni, con approfondimenti divulgativi sul rapporto dell’uomo con la montagna e la notte, accompagnati da una semplice bevanda calda condivisa.

Il ritorno lungo il medesimo itinerario permette ai partecipanti di confrontare la percezione del paesaggio prima e dopo l’adattamento al buio.

Il percorso si sviluppa interamente su strada sterrata di facile percorrenza per circa 5 km a/r e circa 150 m di dislivello: si raccomandano scarpe da trekking, indumenti adeguati e torcia frontale, possibilmente con luce rossa.

Notte Alpina a Sauze di Cesana

An evening and night-time excursion in the Sauze di Cesana area, designed to explore the alpine landscape at night and observe the starry sky, with a particular focus on the relationship between ecosystems, sensory perception and the quality of darkness.

During the stops along the way, key topics are explored, such as the impact of light pollution, the fragility of Alpine ecosystems and the fascinating ways in which nocturnal wildlife navigates. The main stop is entirely devoted to observing the sky and identifying the main constellations, enriched by informative insights into the historical relationship between humans, the mountains and the night, all accompanied by a shared hot drink.

The return journey, following the same route, offers the chance to compare how the landscape appears before and after your eyes have adjusted to the dark.

The route follows an easy-to-walk dirt track for approximately 5 km there and back, with an elevation gain of around 150 m: we recommend walking boots, suitable clothing and a head torch, preferably with a red light.

Insieme alla guida ambientale escursionistica Fabrizio Burzio cercheremo di capire cos’è l’inquinamento luminoso e quali le sue problematiche.

Inizieremo l'osservazione del cielo imparando a riconoscere alcune costellazioni, fondamentali per l’orientamento notturno, e ascoltando miti e leggende legate a loro. Inoltre si parlerà della fauna che abita quei luoghi, con particolare riguardo ai rapaci notturni.

Si parte dalla frazione Balma e si arriva alla frazione Villaretto, con un dislivello di 125 m circa e una lunghezza di 2,6 km solo andata.

Ognuno potrà portare il proprio binocolo/cannocchiale; si raccomandano abbigliamento adeguato, scarponcini da trekking o scarponi, luce frontale preferibilmente rossa..

In caso di maltempo l’uscita sarà rinviata a sabato 19 settembre.

Notte (in)finita: il cielo stellato che non si vede più

L’escursione al tramonto nel suggestivo Vallone del Ghinivert prevede un rientro in notturna dedicato all’osservazione del cielo.

Elisabetta Giriodi, guida escursionistica ambientale, accompagnerà i partecipanti lungo un percorso che intreccia leggende, scienza e natura. Durante l’itinerario verranno trattate tematiche ambientali, con un focus sugli animali crepuscolari e notturni e sugli effetti dell’inquinamento luminoso sul nostro ecosistema. Non mancheranno cenni di astronomia, in un viaggio tra l’approccio scientifico e il fascino del mito.

Si raccomandano abbigliamento adeguato, scarponcini da trekking o scarponi, luce frontale preferibilmente rossa.

Casa Lajolo in Piossasco is once again the beating heart of food, wine and green culture with the latest edition of the Festa degli Orti, dedicated this year to ‘The Flavours of the Earth’.

An event that transforms the mansion and its gardens into an open-air workshop, bringing together the haute cuisine of chefs such as Matteo Baronetto, Giorgio Vacchiano’s popular science presentations, guided tastings, hands-on workshops and a rich market exhibition featuring local producers.

At the heart of the initiative is an experiential journey guided by the five senses, designed to stimulate sight, smell, taste, touch and hearing through sensory trails in the dark, sessions dedicated to fermentation, olive oil, honey and even music paired with food.

Making this twelfth edition even more varied is the Festa degli Orti Off, the wider programme entitled ‘Dintorno: walk and discover’, which offers guided tours of open-air museums, vermouth tastings, cultural walks amongst the village’s historic chapels and nature walks in Monte San Giorgio Park.

Other new features include the launch of a shuttle service linking the village of San Vito to the town centre and, for trekking enthusiasts, the reopening of the scenic Strà d’j Babj trail, allowing visitors to hike up through the hillside.

This is followed by a twilight walk to gradually immerse yourself in the night-time environment and observe the changes in nature and the animals that come to life as the light fades.

Once at the observation point, the focus turns to the stars and constellations, exploring their place in mythology, their ancient uses for navigation, and the myths and legends associated with the night sky, followed by a guided observation of the stars or the Moon, aided by a laser pointer where appropriate.

This competition is unique due to the steep gradients of the route, which often exceed 20% and cover a difference in altitude of 1045 meters in just over 9 km!

Coppa Italia Downhill

On 22 and 23 August, the national Downhill circuit returns to Sestriere, in the Olympic mountains of the Vialattea. The event, organised by Downhill Italia, will see the discipline’s top riders compete along the Downtower track. After reaching the summit, competitors will be transferred to an altitude of 2,370 metres, from where they will descend at breakneck speed for 1.6 km to Colle del Sestriere at 2,000 metres. The finish line will be set up on the lawn next to the Palazzetto dello Sport. On Saturday 22 August, from 6.00 pm, the paddock will host a spectacle of adrenaline, talent and rhythm, featuring music and acrobatic displays on bikes and trial motorbikes.
